Representation at the spring season career fairs
Springtime is traditionally the time for many career fairs, and we didn’t miss out on them either!
This time, many from our team took part in several career fairs. There were also volunteers who joined the career fairs for the first time ever (and they loved it!). They met many students who are interested in aviation, business services, and the different roles that we offer in Tartu.
Our team represented FBS at:
Estonian Aviation Academy Career Day (12.02)
Taru University Delta Career Day (University of Tartu) (18.02)
Estonian University of Life Sciences Career Fair (19.03)
The fairs brought together many students who were genuinely interested in learning more about our work. Several asked about the career paths available at FBS, the kinds of roles we offer across different teams, and what everyday work in the aviation field looks like behind the scenes.
Viktoria, Recruitment & Talent Specialist, said that meeting students face‑to‑face has been one of the highlights of the season. “Their curiosity and fresh perspectives truly stand out!” She added that career fairs are a valuable chance not just to share information, but to listen (and to really understand) what future professionals look for, how their expectations are changing, and how we can support their growth.
The events also reminded us how important it is to stay connected with upcoming talent. Conversations with students showed genuine excitement about aviation and interest in everything from internships to long‑term career opportunities.
People & Culture Expert Janne Reinart-Möller spent a day engaging with students at the Estonian University of Life Sciences Career Fair. This was her first career fair and she was glad to see that in addition to our core target groups, we got to reach students from other fields as well, which helps a lot with our visibility. “As an airline, we clearly differentiated ourselves from other employers and actively explained the opportunities available to students,” she added.
Source to Pay team lead Helen Kornel said that taking part in career fairs plays an important role in increasing the company’s visibility and reaching a wider audience. “Having managers and specialists present, and not just HR, makes a real difference. Students value the chance to hear directly what the work looks like and to meet the people who are involved in hiring decisions and selecting future team members,” she said and added, that it also gives managers a clearer view of how expectations on the labor market are evolving.
Looking ahead, we’re already excited for the next round of events, and we hope to welcome some of the bright students we met this spring to FBS in the future.
