Healthy Spring at FBS

This spring, Finnair Business Services once again took a step towards a more active and balanced everyday work life. From late April until the end of May, the Healthy Spring initiative offered employees a mix of movement, short breaks, and practical habits that colleagues could take part in at their own pace.

Movement has always been the center of our Healthy Springs throughout the years, and this year was no different. Our annual Walking Challenge kept many of us moving throughout the month, while the Tartu Forest Marathon brought colleagues together both on-site and virtually. In total, 30 FBS employees took part in the marathon, and we reached a great milestone as well: FBS was the third-largest team by number of participants in Estonia!

The virtual marathon format turned out to be especially popular. It gave people the flexibility to run wherever and whenever it suited them between 1–17 May.

Alongside the more active challenges, there were also plenty of shorter sessions to join. Yoga, morning meditation, a dance workshop, and a head massage session offered simple ways to take a break during the day and recharge. A first aid session and other learning-focused activities added a practical side to the program.

At the same time, Healthy Spring showed up in everyday office life in smaller ways too. The kitchen had its own rhythm, with fruit and veggie days, vitamin drinks, electrolyte powders, sprouts, and other small additions that made it easy to make slightly healthier choices during the day.

Some of the most engaging moments came from the lighter, more social activities. Photo challenges encouraged people to get outside through team lunches, quick walks, or exploring Tartu’s bridges. It was nice to see how these small ideas turned into shared moments across teams.

In the end, Healthy Spring wasn’t about doing everything, but about doing something. Whether that was joining a challenge or just going for a few extra walks, it all added up in supporting both our physical and mental wellbeing.
