FBS at Estonian Aviation Academy Career Day

On 12th of April, our team members proudly participated in the Estonian Aviation Academy's Career Day. The Career Day provides a great opportunity for ambitious aviation students and professionals to connect with industry leaders. This year, the event consisted of an open career fair area with many aviation-related companies introducing themselves as well as a panel discussion.

The atmosphere at the career fair area was lively as students and employers mingled and exchanged ideas and opportunities. Attendees gained valuable perspectives on potential internship and employment prospects in the aviation and technology sectors.

Our Talent Partner, Viktoria Hein, shared her observations from the event, noting that students were most interested in the application process for internships with us and what the internship specifically entails. There were also inquiries about our operations in Tartu, as it was not widely known.

Since many attendees at the open career fair start their studies in the autumn, and as many are first-year students, we had an excellent opportunity to talk about our areas of expertise in more detail. Among our representatives was a member of the Business Service team who is also a student at the Estonian Aviation Academy. He shared a lot of his own experience and introduced the various opportunities available for students when finding work relevant to their studies.

FBS People Services and Development Manager, Elina Savi, participated in the panel discussion "Who does the aviation sector need?" Various topics were discussed, including the current recruitment situation, strategies for standing out in applications, and additional skills that should be developed alongside formal education.

The panel discussion showed that the aviation sector requires a highly diverse workforce, ranging from customer service and office administration to engineering and piloting. However, it is crucial that employees are motivated and capable of learning. For this reason, the desire to develop and an interest in aviation are important factors that distinguish candidates from each other.

At FBS, we are committed to nurturing talent and fostering innovation. Participating in events like Career Day is just one way we support the next generation of aviation professionals.
